Biography

Cynthia Payne, MD is a general surgeon currently practicing full time in Tawas. She received her medical degree from New York Medical college and completed a general surgery residency at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. Dr. Payne further her training with a Rural Surgery fellowship based out of Kalispell, Montana. Her areas of special interest include rural general surgery include screening and diagnostic endoscopy, skin and soft tissue lesions, hernias, and gallbladder disease. Dr. Payne is intimately involved in the Tawas community serving on the Foundation Board, medical executive committee, trauma committee, and surgical governance board. Dr. Payne treats patients at Lakeshore Surgical based at Ascension St. Joseph hospital.
